TOP 5 SCENIC LOCATIONS FOR FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY IN PORT MOODY

As a Port Moody family photographer, I'm lucky to be surrounded by stunning natural backdrops perfect for capturing meaningful moments. Whether you're planning a family adventure session or a cozy lifestyle shoot, here are my top five locations to create timeless images:

  • ROCKY POINT PARK

Although this local gem is very busy especially in the summer (and admittedly I tend to avoid it). it does offer ocean views, lush green spaces, and boardwalk trails. It's nice for sunset sessions or candid family strolls with ice cream in hand.

  • OLD ORCHARD PARK

This is a personal favorite of mine and one of my go to's in the summer. Tucked away and often quieter, this spot is ideal for families who want a peaceful setting with forested paths and waterfront views.

  • SHORELINE TRAILS

We are lucky to be surround by so much natural beauty in our backyard. You will often see me shooting on the shoreline trails in Port Moody as I love the dappled forest light and golden hour glow these trails provide.

  • OLD MILL SITE

One of my favorite spots in the summer for family sessions as I love not only the sunsets here but it truly feels like an adventure every time I go. I love that it is usually not crowded, has water views and plenty for kiddos to explore. It is tide dependent and can get a bit muddy.

  • BUNTZEN LAKE

Ok technically not in Port Moody but only minutes away is Buntzen Lake. Surrounded by lush forests and framed by majestic mountains, this spot provides a picturesque backdrop that embodies the natural beauty of British Columbia. I would not recommend this place for a summer session but during the off season it's a beautiful spot.

MY FAVORITE LOCATIONS OUTSIDE OF PORT MOODY

I tend to stay local whenever I can but I have a handful of spots that I have done sessions at that I love

I have been working with Ryan & Lysia for a number of years now and they are probably the sweetest people I have met. Always have been so welcoming and kind. I have a few different options based on season.

APPLE ORCHARD

The farm has a beautiful and private Orchard that I am able to rent. There is a very short turn around in terms of blossoms. They are usually end of April or early May so there needs to be some flexibility when trying to book these types of sessions. There is also a possibility to do these sessions when the apples are on the trees in August.

  • TREE FARM

I love this tree farm. They always put on such a festive ambiance and its just such a beautiful location.

  • PITT LAKE

I love this location but only shoot here during the week and usually not in the summer as it is crazy busy. It is a beautiful not with a serene lake framed by majestic marshlands and expansive marshland, offering a beautiful backdrop.
