Community Over Competition: A Photographer Referral System that Benefits Us All! Let's Work Together!

As photographers, we all know the sting of having to turn away a client we're fully booked for - or realizing a lead isn't quite the right fit for our style. Instead of sending those inquires into the void, what if we turned them into opportunities for connection, collaboration, and community? That's where a photographer-to-photographer referral system comes in.

What is a Photographer Referral System?

A referral system is a mutual agreement or informal network among photographers to send leads to one another when they are unavailable, out of town, or when the inquiry isn't the right fit for their style or niche.

What I am proposing is if as a photographer you recommend or refer me and I am able to book the client I will send you a monetary value as a thank you

For those you refer/recommend me as a family photographer I would send you $25 if the client is booked

For those who refer me for elopements I would send you $50 if the client is booked

Of course I would love to set this up as a mutual benefiting relationship if I send clients your way.

A mutual Relationship

This referral network is built on mutual respect, trust, and the shared belief that there's more than enough work to go around. When I'm booked, out of town or receive an inquiry that's not quite my style, I want to confidently pass it along to a photographer I trust. In the hopes we can build a relationship that we both benefit from.

Why it's a Win-Win-Win

For the Client: They still get trusted recommendations instead of having to restart their search

For the referring photographer: You build trust, professionalism, and can often earn referral fees or reciprocal recommendations. See above :)

For the referred photographer: You get bookings you might not have landed otherwise - without the marketing hustle.

What I'm looking for:

• photographers based in Port Moody, or close by
• a variety of styles and specialities (family, weddings, branding, maternity etc)
• those who vale community over competition
